Pro Bono Information:

The Indian River County Bar Association through its Pro Bono Program offers free legal advice or free representation to qualifying low income, elderly, and disabled residents of Indian River County. The Bar Association also provides free legal advice to any resident of Indian River County at its quarterly “Ask a Lawyer” program.

The Indian River County Bar Association partners with Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. to assist low income (eligible) clients needing legal representation for certain types of civil legal problems. In order to qualify for services, a potential client must contact Florida Rural Legal Services at the address or phone number below in order to begin the qualifying process. Candidates will complete the application with a FRLS representative and if their application meets the qualifications for representation or free legal advice, the file will be relayed to the members of the Bar Association for representation. Once a volunteer attorney is selected, the client will meet with their attorney at no cost. Representation lasts until the case has been completed or until preparation of the necessary documents have been finalized.

Ask A Lawyer

All residents of Indian River County may take advantage of the Bar Association’s popular “Ask a Lawyer” Program held four times a year at the Indian River County Courthouse Law Library. The “Ask a Lawyer” Program calls on local attorneys to volunteer their time to answer questions posed by county residents. Local newspapers and radio stations will broadcast for dates and times for the next “Ask a Lawyer” Program.

The Florida Bar
